Eagles' top 30 visits could hint at 2024 NFL Draft plans
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles have not drafted a cornerback in the first round of the NFL draft since 2002 when they selected Lito Sheppard at No. 26 overall, but that could change this year.

According to NFL Network's James Palmer, the Eagles have hosted "pretty much all" of the top cornerbacks from this year's draft class.

The Eagles have a handful of needs heading into the draft which include cornerback, linebacker, offensive tackle and depth at safety, wide receiver, edge, tight end, and running back.

However, cornerback is certainly one of Philly's priority needs after they allowed the second most passing yards (4,296) and passing touchdowns (39) in 2023.

Starters Darius Slay and James Bradberry took a step back last year, but the reality is that they're both aging. The Eagles also have last year's draft picks, Sydney Brown and Kelee Ringo, but they still have a lot to prove. Avonte Maddox is back, but he's only worth it if he can stay healthy which has been a problem.

Investing in a high-quality young corner could be the right move and the game-changing addition to their secondary that the Eagles desperately need.

As of one week out from the 2024 NFL Draft, here are the known cornerbacks that the Eagles have hosted at the NovaCare Complex:

  • CB Andru Phillips (Kentucky)
  • CB Decamerion Richardson (Mississippi State)
  • CB Kool-Aid McKinstry (Alabama)
  • CB Cooper DeJean (Iowa)
  • CB Terrion Arnold (Alabama)
  • CB Caelen Carson (Wake Forest)
  • CB Jarrian Jones (Florida State)
  • CB Shon Stephens (Ferris State)

The 2024 NFL kicks off on Thursday, April 27 with the Eagles set to pick at No. 22 overall in Round 1.
