Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic has faced some criticism since he came to the NBA about his ability to stay in shape.
Now, after more than three months off due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is making it clear fans have nothing to worry about.
As the NBA season gets set to resume, many in Dallas are excited about Doncic’s return and the chance to see the Mavericks in the playoffs. When Doncic’s trainer recently admitted the NBA star wasn’t in the best shape, many Mavs fans started to worry.
Fortunately, Mavericks owner Mark Cuban put those concerns to rest on Friday. During an appearance on “The Dan Patrick Show," Cuban said he is keeping in touch with Doncic and is up to date on his workout routine.
Now, with just over a month before players report to Orlando, Doncic is keeping himself in shape, according to Cuban.
"Luka's working out. He's proud to show me the photos. Trust me." – Mark Cuban says report that Luka Doncic is out of shape was a bad translation from one of his coaches and he's in good shape (@dpshow)

It’s great news for the Mavericks, especially since Doncic will be returning at full health. While he continued to play at an MVP-caliber level this season, the 21-year-old point guard was limited by a thumb injury and ankle issues this season.
It limited some of his effectiveness on the court, but Doncic still averaged 29.3 points, 8.2 rebounds and 8.3 assists in March before the NBA suspended its season.
If Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis are healthy, the Mavericks will be a sneaky contender when the NBA season resumes.
