Detroit Pistons Player Fined $25,000 By NBA After Heat Game

After the game (on Monday), the NBA announced that Evan Fournier had been fined $25,000. 

Via NBA Communications: "Detroit Pistons guard Evan Fournier has been fiend $25,000 for kicking the game ball into the spectator stands, it was announced today by Joe Dumars, Executive Vice President, Head of Basketball Operations.

The incident occurred following the conclusion of the Pistons' 104-101 loss to the Miami Heat on March 17 at Little Cesars Arena."

Despite the loss (and the fine), Fournier had a good game with 18 points, four rebounds, one assist and three steals while shooting 6/14 from the field and 4/8 from the three-point range in 31 minutes of playing time.  

The 12-year veteran was traded (via the New York Knicks) earlier this season and is averaging 7.2 points, 1.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 37.3% from the field and 30.3% from the three-point range in 18 games.

As for the Pistons, they have had a tough season and are the 14th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 12-55 record in 67 games.

They have gone 4-6 over their last ten games and are also in the middle of a two-game losing streak. 

Following the Heat, the Pistons will play their next game on Monday evening when they face off against the Boston Celtics in Massachusetts.
