Watch: Juan Soto's three-run double gives Yankees 5-2 lead over Tigers in seventh

Juan Soto's bases-loaded double in the bottom of the seventh broke a 2-2 tie and gave the New York Yankees a 5-2 lead over the Detroit Tigers on a rainy Sunday afternoon at Yankee Stadium.

New York is attempting to sweep the three-game series.

The Yankees led 2-0 after six on a home run by Aaron Judge and an RBI double by Oswaldo Cabrera.

But the Tigers tied it in the top of the seventh on Spencer Torkelson's  run-scoring double and an RBI fielder's choice by Javier Baez.

However, a walk to Jon Berti, a single by, Jose Trevino and another walk to Anthony Volpe in the bottom of the frame loaded the bases with one out for the home team.

Soto then lined left-hander Andrew Chafin's 2-1 pitch  into the right-field corner to clear the bases.

The double, with an exit velocity of  107.2 miles per hour, gave New York a 95.1% win probability.

The big go-ahead double was just a continuation of Soto's outstanding first season as a Yankee. He now has eight home runs and 28 RBI to go along with a .316 average,  .421 on-base-average and .980 OPS.
