Nick Saban revealed some of his thoughts on Alabama football ahead of the 2024 college football season.

Saban, who will work as an analyst for ESPN this upcoming season, sat down with Paul Finebaum over the weekend for an interview. The pair discussed several topics, including how Saban and the Tide adjusted to the new world of college football, which led to Saban revealing his feelings on the many challenges Alabama is now facing.

“I think for Alabama, they’ve got a lot to overcome in the short term because of the number of players that, you know, left this year,” Saban said.

Multiple players entered the portal when Nick Saban announced his retirement including players, who started multiple games. Caleb Downs, Amari Niblack and Isaiah Bond were among this group. Those departures combined with the players the Tide lost to the NFL, has caused Kalen DeBoer and his staff to do a lot of shopping in the transfer portal.

Alabama has picked up four transfers since spring practice concluded.
